Oh, Canada

Think back on your most memorable road trip.

I’d be inclined to say it was probably back in the day when I dated a Canadian. I’d typically travel out to either Bangor or Maine and he’d pick me up for a few hour drive into Canada. Once we were driving on a pitch black road in the middle of no where and came across a moose in the middle of the road. Being from Jersey, I’m used to deer but definitely not a moose. 🫎 We were in a Prius and I just remember thinking we were going to get squished, but I clearly lived to tell the tale.

I experienced my first ever full-blown white out merging onto a highway there. I also experienced hitting a backroad on the return ride to ME that was a solid sheet of ice, causing a tractor- trailer to fully jackknife, blocking the road entirely. Our car was sliding sideways and I was straight bugging. It was a fiasco and I ultimately missed my flight home.

While it was fun, it’s safe to say I won’t be moving there any time soon.
