From an outside perspective, she had a grasp on the “American dream”. A house, albeit small, was remodeled by her husband over the last few years and was finally what they had dreamt it to be.
Her name was Brynn and she was 32 years old. She and her husband, Brent, bought the house when they were 25. They had brought their 5 cats there, got their first dog together and had their two beautiful children while living in this house.
Brynn was a manager in a corporate office. She was in staffing but as a manager, she really was more so dealing with her internal team and ensuring their department was growing and progressing. When things were good, Brynn enjoyed her job and was effective in her role. She had a lot of pride in what she and her team were doing.
Brent owned his own business. He had worked full-time and in 2018, he and a friend started a side business and bought an online merchandising store. In 2020, he was laid off and at that point, the side business had grown to sustain at least one employee- which would be him. We agreed to try and pursue his dream and would adjust our situation in the future, if necessary.
Things were good. Brent and Brynn were stressed but happy, raising their family and growing the life they dreamt of together. Until things slowly began to change…
