Simply put? A tree or shrub with bright red berries and pointy dark green leaves.

According to my friend, Google, it also means eternal life, peace, protection, and good fortune. I’m still waiting on some of those things, especially of recent, so maybe my peace and good fortune are yet to arrive.

Another definition relates the name to the plant and carrying resilience, beauty and festivity. I can vouch for the resilience aspect, as I’m battling uphill daily.

Lastly, for anyone curious, no- I am not born in December. No Holly Jolly reasoning for my name selection aside from my mother worked with a woman named Holly and liked the name. I am actually a Libra, born 10/16/91. If you look up Libra, that is me to a tee, lol.
