Complaining

What do you complain about the most?

Everything. I’m an Italian working mother in her thirties. I have tons to complain about; I could complain about complaining itself.

I think the number one thing is going to work. In higher pressure environments, it’s good to “vent” to get through the day although sometimes I catch myself wishing I’d just shut my mouth. It’s funny too because in my position at work, I basically am in charge of taking and handling complaints from the team as their manager. Some days or years can be rough and it’s another good reminder to myself to try to have greater perspective. Complaining can be draining to the person doing it or to people surrounded by it, which is not ideal for a positive work culture.

It’s necessary to remind myself to be grateful for what’s good and important in life when I get too negative!
