Adulting

Why does adulting have to be so complicated?! It’s not enough that we have to work for 8+ hours a day; we have to feed ourselves, potentially be responsible for the lives of others, and keep a household running smoothly. That’s just touching the surface of items that we need to do as an adult.

I understand the importance of learning math, science, history, etc., but I don’t understand why they don’t really educate kids on adulting- you know, what it’s really like every day.

Basic life skills or discussions around routine, hygiene, finances, saving, working, parenting, home-owning and even just the struggles of every day adulting. These are the things that impact us every day, whereas those other primary courses really only come up occasionally (occupation dependent, of course). Maybe things are different now. I know I’m certainly interested to see what sort of course options my children may have when the time comes.

What classes would’ve been helpful for you growing up to prepare for adulthood?
