The Annual Cookie Party

I hopped on the scale this morning and then immediately began putting on my gym clothes. Today is the cookie party that one of my best gal pals from college throws annually, and between the start of my baking yesterday morning and waking up today, the scale is telling me I gained 2 pounds. Omg.

The party is the best. Everyone bakes a half dozen cookies per person and brings extras for tasting. There are prizes given for the most delicious, best packaging, most creative, and more. The first year of the cookie party, I went home empty handed and was so disappointed. Ever since, I’ve taken my baking very seriously; I am in it to win it. It became a lot easier this year, now that my life has been blessed with a Kitchen Aid Mixer.

This year, I baked the most delicious looking cookies I could find (craving cookies & cream lately) using a recipe I found on Pinterest. I tweaked it slightly to more appropriately fit my fat tooth. I made what I now call, Cookies ‘N’ Cream EXTREME, which contain double stuffed Oreos, crumbled Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Cream bars, and milk chocolate chips. Delish!

I was lucky enough to win “People’s Choice Award” this year. I’m not even sure if I know what it means, but it sounds good. Either way, the award is not as great as the fun I get to have with my friends around the holidays; it’s just the perk on top. If you’ve never been to a cookie party, I highly recommend you change that ASAP!

Look at those cookies!
